If your child is ill...please keep them home
There have been a number of ill students since our return from the holiday break. If your child is ill with a fever they should stay home until they are fever free for 24 hours and are no longer taking any medication. If your child is ill with vomiting or diarrhea please keep them home for 48 hours. This is also a good time of year to review proper hygiene with your child and to practice at home (hand washing, covering their mouth with the inside of their arm, nose blowing and staying hydrated).
Are you de-cluttering or getting a head start on spring cleaning?
Keep the Kinder team in mind. We will gladly take donations of milk/bread tags, toilet paper rolls, tissue boxes, sturdy cardboard from all those online shopping boxes, paper bags, SOLO cups, old cards (holiday, birthday, thank-you, any occasion), leftover crafting supplies (pompoms, buttons, felt, ribbon, feathers), envelopes of all sizes.....We're a creative bunch as are your children therefore if you are in the process of purging and have such to donate please send it in. We are also happy to receive gently used books, toys, dress up clothes/costumes, doll clothes and games. Not sure we will think of your donations as treasure? Just ask or send us a picture via Remind and we will let you know.
Kindergarten Info Night and Early Registration
The Kinder team will be hosting their Kindergarten Info session the evening of Thursday, January 18th at 6pm for families NEW to Kindergarten. Please spread the word to any and all friends and family you may have that are looking to register their child for Kindergarten. Year 1 (JK) and Year 2 (SK) students welcome!
Please note this is a session for families that are unfamiliar with our school and program and will be registering at Hilson for the first time. Those with younger siblings that are heading to Kindergarten in September are encouraged to register their child during the week of Jan.22nd.
Going on a Family Vacation?
Lucky you! Please notify the school and the Kinder team of your travel dates if they happen to fall prior to the March break and your child will be missing school so that we can input them into our attendance system. Families who are vacationing for more than a month are demitted from our register and are required to re-register upon their return. This is board policy and requirement. Thanks for understanding!
