You name it Hilson's Kinder classes have gotten it. Add that to many back to back extremely cold, grey weather days and it feels like a never ending winter....
Please keep your child at home if they are not well, giving them that extra 24 hours to be 100% sure they are ready to go back to school. We understand the work constraints and that some of our Kinders are super eager to return to school but it really does help in keeping the germs from spreading. Thanks for your help in this matter!
Water bottles
Many children are coming to school without their water bottles. Keep in mind that without their own water bottles, they are using communal water fountains that are shared by all 360 students at the school. More germs (see where we're going with this :0) Please be sure to pack a water bottle in your child's backpack. Thanks!
Pizza & Lunch Lady woes
Please be sure to clarify with your child if they are indeed receiving Pizza on Tuesday & Lunch Lady on Friday. The struggle is REAL! There are tears.... If you order occasionally and are choosing to skip a week or if you ordered as a one time treat, have a chat with your Kinder about it. They tend to work on precedent so even if it was just that one time they got pizza/Lunch Lady, they seem to think (hope) it will happen again.
Mitts & Socks
Not a bad idea to have an extra pair of mitts or socks in your child's backpack at this time of year. When we can go out, their mitts and socks are sometimes too wet from morning play to use comfortably for afternoon play.
Valentine's Day letter went home last week - let us know if you didn't receive it.
Both classes are celebrating Valentine's Day. Participation is voluntary and up to you and your child. A letter went home to families last week with names of the students in each class. You can address each card individually or you can simply leave the To: blank & have your child sign the From: part of the card. The students have created their own mailboxes and will be playing post officer when delivering their cards. Leaving the To:blank helps our younger, year 1 students to deliver them easily with no fuss. Addressing the cards to each student gives an attainable reading challenge for our year 2 students as they will need to read their handwriting and deliver it to the appropriate mailbox of the friend they addressed the card to.
The Kinder team is collecting....
Plastic odds & ends - think marker lids, bottle caps, caps to food pouches, broken toys, etc. Keep the paper towel, egg cartons, toilet paper rolls, milk/bread tags, dryer lint, bird seed, old cards coming. All crafting supplies are also always welcome. Hair dye squeeze bottles or any reusable spray bottles are appreciated as well.
